(SDP) and Croatian Prime Minister, Ivica Racan, said on Sunday he
did not want to comment on certain statements by Drazen Budisa,
adding that neither the party nor he wanted a discussion on anyone's
interview.
"I particularly do not want to go into a debate on the part of
Budisa's interview which represent an argument with the SDP, the
government or me personally," Racan said.
Drazen Budisa has told the daily Vecernji List he considers Prime
Minister Ivica Racan and his party the most accountable for the
situation within the five-party ruling coalition.
Racan said the SDP wanted to contribute to the cooperation within
the coalition, stability of the coalition, cooperation with
strategic partners and the stability of the Croatian Social Liberal
Party (HSLS).
Asked whether, after Budisa's interview, the SDP would be ready to
cooperate with the HSLS should Budisa come at its helm, Racan said
the SDP was a democratic and tolerant party which knew how to put up
with inappropriate statements.
Asked whether the fact that Budisa cited some statements by the
Chief Prosecutor of the UN war crimes tribunal (ICTY) would open new
problems in the cooperation with the ICTY, Racan dismissed this
possibility.
