ZAGREB, Dec 15 (Hina) - The acting president of the ruling coalition's Social Liberals (HSLS) has declined to comment on the interviews Drazen Budisa, a candidate for party president, granted the Vecernji List and Novi List newspapers
on Saturday. "Hina shouldn't deal with comments, gossip and issues concerning intra-party relations," Jozo Rados said. In the interviews, Budisa said Rados was unable to guarantee the independence of the HSLS. Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic, commenting on Budisa's threat that Granic would have to resign to his post if Budisa were elected HSLS president, Granic said he would be the one to decide how long he would hold the office of deputy PM. Alluding to Budisa, he recounted a joke about a man driving down the wrong side of the road and wondering why everybody else was driving in the wrong direction.(hina) ha sb
