PARLIAMENT VOICES OPINION ON AMENDMENTS TO STATE BUDGET

ZAGREB, Dec 11 (Hina) - Shortly before 13.00 hours Tuesday, Croatian MPs started to voice their opinions on amendments to the state budget for 2002, submitted by the government. With an exception of the Opposition's Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) bench, parliamentary benches agreed that only representatives of parliamentary party benches should voice their opinion on six amendments, on behalf of their party. The decision should contribute to the efficiency of parliament's work. The Opposition's Democratic Centre (DC) demanded of the parliament to voice its opinion on about 400 amendments submitted by MPs, but the request has not been formally taken into consideration, as the parliament speaker, Zlatko Tomcic, stressed that as the chairman he had the right to decide how the session would be held.(hina) np
