CROATIAN PARLIAMENT ADOPTS REPORTS ON AUDITS

ZAGREB, Dec 4 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament continued its 18th session on Tuesday by voting on acts discussed last week. The MPs thus endorsed a report on the work of the State Audit Office for this year, and a report on audits carried out last year. The parliament also supported a conclusion by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party bench that all reports on audits should be submitted to the State Prosecutor's Office and the Interior Ministry. The institutions should establish whether there were any cases of illegal acts in the management of budgetary funds, and should the reply be affirmative, they would act in line with their powers. The two institutions should inform the parliament about their measures by June 1, 2002 at the latest.
