ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament on Friday discussed a final bill on public supply which, according to the government, which moved the bill, introduces a more transparent and more efficient control in the public supply
system. MPs of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS), the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) and the Croatian party of Rights/Croatian Christian Democratic Union (HSP/HKDU) bench criticised the fact that a regulation on the so-called national privilege institute had been left out. In accordance with the institute, domestic companies would have priority in public invitations to bid. HDZ, HSP and HKDU representatives said they would support the law should the government include national privileges in order to protect domestic companies. The majority of MPs believe the implementation of the law would prevent all possible public supply system frauds.(hina) it sb
