ZAGREB, Dec 6 (Hina) - Public servants' unions have turned down the government's offer of a 250 kuna Christmas bonus but suggested paying out this year's bonuses only to public servants whose salaries have been cut, under the new wage
system, by 100 or more kuna. Around 30,000 of 120,000 public sector employees would thus get a Christmas bonus ranging between 500 and 800 kuna, the president of the Health and Welfare Union, Radoslav Golac, told reporters after Wednesday's negotiations at the government. The unions have turned down the government's offer deeming the amount of 250 kuna below the dignity of public servants. Child's bonuses of 400 kuna and anniversary bonuses of 1,725 kuna will be paid out by year's end, Golac said.
