Tusek explained that the current fee of 0.40 kuna per litre of oil

Since the Croatian government in the meantime ruled the accelerated
building of the Zagreb-Split motorway a priority in road building,
it is necessary to ensure higher funds, and therefore proposed
increase of petroleum products' prices, Tusek said.
He said the increase to 0.60 kuna will result in an increase of road
fees by 194.6 million kuna which will enable the faster building of
the Zagreb-Split motorway.
The ruling coalition party benches of the Social Democratic Party
(SDP) and the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) supported the
proposal, while the opposition's Democratic Centre (DC) and the
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) opposed them.
