MINISTER: NUMBER OF FLATS FOR WAR INVALIDS TO BE TRIPLED

ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - Funds for the construction of flats for Homeland War invalids will BE tripled in 2002, Public Works, Reconstruction and Construction Minister Radimir Cacic announced Friday. He said he was particularly satisfied with budgetary funds to be earmarked for the ministry in 2002, which amount to 2.690 billion kuna. This year's budgetary funds for the ministry amount to 1.930 billion kuna. Housing funds for war invalids and their families will triple owing to a changed model of housing funding, that is, commercial loans with the state subsidising interest. Cacic stressed the importance of the fund for the development and reconstruction of Vukovar, which would be allocated 25 million kuna. A total of 96 million kuna of budgetary funds will be earmarked for the development of islands, as against this year's 85 million, and an additional 35-40 million kuna from income tax will be given to local units of administration. Budgetary funds have been set aside for the B arm of the Istrian Y highway. Funds amounting to 235 million kuna have been earmarked for the Zagreb-Rijeka motorway as well, he said. (hina) np sb
