"1,000 DINNER NIGHT" FOR MINE CLEARANCE

ZAGREB, Nov 29 (Hina) - A festive dinner is for the first time being held in Zagreb, at Sheraton Hotel as part of the "The Night of 1,000 Dinners" world project whose aim is to collect funds for mine-clearing in Croatia and other countries, the organisers said Thursday. All the funds will go towards the Croatian Mine Centre, said the president of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Zagreb, Tomislav Slat, the organiser of the dinner. The chief sponsor of the festivity is Diners Club Adriatic which is financing the entire event, with the support of the American and Canadian embassies in Croatia. The sale of tickets and the donations, with added funds from the embassies and voluntary foundations, could bring up to DM150,000, Slat said.
