"On the parliamentary level we seek the best models of special proceedings and ensuring priorities for the adjustment," Tomcic told his counterparts from Italy, Slovenia, and Hungary at a meeting of the so-called quadrilateral initiative. He said the experience the three states had in adapting their legislation were valuable for Croatia as Italy is a EU member, while Slovenia and Hungary are much closer to joining than Croatia. The Budapest meeting focused on the adjustment of domestic legislation to EU standards.
