OPATIJA, Nov 9 (Hina) - Croatian Tourism Minister Pave Zupan Ruskovic evaluated the current situation on the international tourism market as very favourable, stressing big demands for arrangements in Croatia in 2002 have already been
noted. Addressing a congress of the Croatian Hoteliers' Association in Opatija, the minister said the 2001 tourist season was successful and the first post-war year in which the tourist sector made a profit, reaching 200 million kuna (approx. $24.4 million). Only the Sibenik-Knin County and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, which suffered the greatest war consequences, made losses, Zupan Ruskovic said. She commended the extension of the main season from 108 to 120 days. According to the results of a survey, a foreign tourist in Croatia appreciates the beauty of the landscape and the people's hospitality the most, while disliking the poor variety of extra services
