CROATIA WISHES TO DRAW IN NORWEGIAN INVESTORS

OSLO, Nov 8 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan in Oslo on Thursday opened a conference on the process of privatisation and investment opportunities in Croatia with which Croatia is trying to draw Norwegian investors into its economy. Racan, leading a government delegation, arrived in Oslo on Wednesday for a two-day official visit. Opening the conference, Premier Racan stressed the government's obligation was to create a "democratic and market-oriented society fully integrated into European economic and political institutions". Besides Racan, speaking at the conference were also Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic and Tourism Minister Pave Zupan Ruskovic. Fizulic acquainted representatives of Norwegian companies who are attending the conference, with the privatisation process in Croatia, and urged them to invest more. Split-based company "Brodosplit" and Norwegian company MOSS Maritime on Thursday signed an agreement by which Brodosplit was granted a franchise placing it into the category of rare world ship building companies with the rights to manufacture ships for special cargo.
