SARAJEVO, Oct 30 (Hina) - Croatian Railways (HZ) and railway companies from Bosnia-Herzegovina will establish railway traffic between the southern Croatian port of Ploce and Budapest immediately after the opening of a new bridge over
the Sava river near Samac, while the existing railway connections between Zagreb and Sarajevo will be improved. The agreement was signed in Sarajevo on Tuesday at a a meeting between HZ Board president Marijan Drempetic and Bosnian Railway Board president Hidajet Serbo. Cargo trains will start running after December 1, after the opening of the new bridge in Samac, while the tourist traffic should be established by the next tourism season. New concrete steps in cooperation include the extension of the current passenger train route (Zagreb-Banja Luka-Sarajevo-Ploce) Zagreb and Ploce should have a direct train connection as of January 1, 2002.
