PROJECT EUROPE OPENS IN CROATIA

ZAGREB, Oct 22 (Hina) - Croatian European Integration Minister Neven Mimica opened Project Europe at the Faculty of Economy in Zagreb on Monday. The project's aim is to inform the Croatian public about the process of negotiations with the European Union and the government's activities in the field of European integration at state, regional and local levels. "We wish to bring closer everything relating to the process of European integration to anybody who is interested and should play a role in our future path towards the European Union," Mimica said at the presentation of the computer and information project during which he set in motion the first Euro-Internet kiosk. A total of 35 Euro-Internet kiosks and Euro-shelves will be set up at faculties and city libraries in all counties. The kiosks are in fact computers with touch-monitors via which interested citizens can, without charge, visit the European Integrations Ministry's web-pages and all other web-sites relating to issues of the European Union and associations. Euro-shelves are filled with the ministry's brochures containing a brief history, meaning and concrete ways of the functioning of the EU. (hina) lml
