SVETI ROK, Oct 5 (Hina) - The Zagreb - Split highway is exceptionally important for Croatia's development, and the government will not back down from its construction. The project is worth about three billion German marks, Croatian
Prime Minister Ivica Racan said on Friday during a tour of the future highway route. "The drafting of the highway construction project is nearing completion and when the highway is completed three years from now, it will connect Dalmatia with northern Croatia, so we will be able to drive from Zagreb to Split in three hours at allowed speeds, and in two to Zadar. It is a very difficult project, three years is not a lot of time, but it is time for us to show how fast and well we can carry out the project," Racan stressed. All preparations for the construction should end by the next spring.(hina) lml
