ZAGREB, Oct 1 (Hina) - Foreign currency deposits in Croatian commercial banks continued to rise steadily. Despite the appreciation of the national currency kuna in July and June, the foreign exchange deposits nominally rose by 3.9
percent and came to 51.5 billion kuna (approximately 6.35 billion U.S. dollars) at the end of July.

commercial banks continued to rise steadily.
Despite the appreciation of the national currency kuna in July and
June, the foreign exchange deposits nominally rose by 3.9 percent
and came to 51.5 billion kuna (approximately 6.35 billion U.S.
dollars) at the end of July.#L#
According to the Croatian National Bank, national currency
deposits also registered a nominal 5.6-percent rise in June and
July by 500 million kuna (approximately $62 million) reaching 9.2
billion kuna ($1.135 billion) at the end of July.
According to September's bulletin of the HNB, citizens' foreign
currency deposits, which accounted for 87 percent of a total of
foreign currency deposits, increased by 3.6 percent in the said two
months.
Companies' foreign currency deposits rose by 5.7 percent in those
two summer months.
