ZAGREB, Sept 17 (Hina) - Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina have
potentials to enhance their economic cooperation, but still lack
better organisation in promoting economic ties, Croatia's
President Stjepan Mesic said after touring the Bosnian pavilion at
the Zagreb Fair. Bosnia is this year's partner-country at the 77th
international autumn fair in the Croatian capital.
As both Croatia and Bosnia are small markets, we must invest more
efforts in finding new markets and entering them jointly, Mesic
added.
Bosnian collective Presidency's chairman, Jozo Krizanovic, who was
the host at the Bosnian pavilion, reiterated his satisfaction with
the fact that Bosnia was this year's partner-country.
Over 100 Bosnian companies are promoting their products and
services at the fair.
At this event we present our economic potentials, not only to
Croatian but other foreign business people as well, and this can
bring us many advantages, Krizanovic said.
He again urged responsible factors to remove remaining obstacles so
that Sarajevo and Zagreb could improve their cooperation and
further bilateral ties.
Bosnia is the third most important market where Croatia exports its
goods, and the 20th-ranked according to its exports to Croatia.
During the international fair, Croatian and Bosnian business
people are to hold bilateral meetings and forums and Bosnia will
organise a few events at which it will present its cultural,
ethnographic and gastronomic features.
Mesic and Krizanovic also held talks on Monday morning to discuss
overall relations.
Mesic recalled that there was a joint Croatian-Bosnian council
which convened every six months to discuss open issues.
Croatia and Bosnia have a common goal - to be integrated in Europe -
and therefore we have reasons to discuss open issues whenever we
meet, Mesic added.
Krizanovic said there was political will to settle open issues and
further cooperation.
