ZAGREB, Sept 5 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Jozo Rados and his Austrian counterpart Herbert Scheibner met in Zagreb on Wednesday to discuss the two countries' military relations and the security situation in South-East Europe.
"We have discussed the cooperation between our two countries, which is very good," Rados said, adding the talks also tackled the security policies of the two countries, especially in the light of the fact that Austria was intensively adjusting its policy to European defence standards. The two ministers also discussed the security situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Yugoslavia, Macedonia and Kosovo. They believe the military cooperation between Croatia and Austria is very good, especially as regards peace operations. A large number of Croatian officers have participated in training
programmes in Austria and that cooperation will continue.
With its democratic development and new political orientation
Croatia undoubtedly sets an example and is regarded by the
international community a factor of stability in the region, said
Scheibner.
The Austrian minister is also to visit the Croatian Foreign
Ministry and meet First Vice-Premier Goran Granic.
