US AMBASSADOR TO CROATIA ON TERRORISM ATTACKS IN US

ZAGREB, Sept 11 (Hina) - "Let me just say first of all that it is really hard as a human being, never mind as an American citizen and an American diplomat, to have words to describe the horror and the outrage and the anguish that all of us feel as we see what's going on in the United States right now with these terrorist attacks," United States Ambassador to Croatia Lawrence Rossin said in a statement Tuesday. He expressed belief that the most intensive investigations would be conducted in the United States to find out who did this, and why they did it, stressing that "the people who are responsible for this can never sleep and have a safe night in their bed." Out of respect for the many people who have been killed any injured in the attacks, but also out of a certain security consciousness, the United States Embassy in Zagreb will be closed to the public on Wednesday. The Embassy will not offer visa or any other

The Embassy will not offer visa or any other public services. Rossin, who was received by Croatian President Stipe Mesic earlier today, told Croatian Television there was no information on any specific threat to American citizens in Croatia, advising them, however, to maintain a low profile until the events become clearer.
