that next year's rate of economic growth in Croatia will be 4.2%. The ministry also expects budgetary cuts, an inflation rate of 4.3%, a fall in the number of unemployed persons to 321,000 and a drop in the budgetary deficit to 4.3% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). These estimates and outlines of the economic policy, which are yet to be discussed by the government, were presented by Finance Minister Mato Crkvenac at Wednesday's working meeting at the Finance Ministry, which was attended, among others, by Prime Minister Ivica Racan, numerous economists, bankers and businessmen.
