SISAK, Aug 30 (Hina) - The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) supports in principle the government's draft social policy because public spending is higher than revenues, SSSH president Davor Juric told Hina on
Thursday. All social entitlements should be retained but their level should be defined in line with the actual situation and potential, he said. Of all the unions, only the SSSH has made objections and given suggestions in writing to the government's draft, Juric says, adding he is satisfied that yesterday's statements by Prime Minister Ivica Racan and competent ministers show that the government has accepted some of the SSSH's proposals. The SSSH advocates the establishment of objective criteria for exercising a social right, such as an income census, so that those rights are not defined arbitrarily by the executive authority, Juric says.(hina) sb rml
SISAK, Aug 30 (Hina) - The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of
Croatia (SSSH) supports in principle the government's draft social
policy because public spending is higher than revenues, SSSH
president Davor Juric told Hina on Thursday.
All social entitlements should be retained but their level should
be defined in line with the actual situation and potential, he
said.
Of all the unions, only the SSSH has made objections and given
suggestions in writing to the government's draft, Juric says,
adding he is satisfied that yesterday's statements by Prime
Minister Ivica Racan and competent ministers show that the
government has accepted some of the SSSH's proposals.
The SSSH advocates the establishment of objective criteria for
exercising a social right, such as an income census, so that those
rights are not defined arbitrarily by the executive authority,
Juric says.
