ZAGREB, Aug 24 (Hina) - Constant threats that farmers will stage protests and block roads "belittle" efforts and work of associations representing farmers' interests and those which have signed this year's agreement on the purchase of
wheat, Croatian Farmers' Association deputy president Vladimir Novotny told Friday's news conference. Those who refused to sign the agreement, such as the association of farmers from Slavonia and Baranja, are calling for non-compliance with the agreement, Novotny said, stressing that the Opposition's Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) was behind this. Croatian Farmers' Association executive secretary Darko Grivicic said the association was satisfied with this year's wheat payments. He said that in spite of some difficulties in Bjelovar-Bilogora, Pozega-Slavonija and Slavonski Brod-Posavina counties, about 90 percent of the wheat had been paid, while the rest
