for social assistance. Vice-Premier Zeljka Antunovic told reporters during a session break that the goal of the measures was to secure assistance to those who truly need it. The document on social policy for the end of this year and the entire next year will be handed to social partners (employers and unions) and presented to the public at a press conference tomorrow. According to information at hand, the government's rationalisation measures incklude the issues of child support, their poll tax or the amount of the support; a decrease in maternity contributions; pension taxation, especially privileged pensions, the care system for Croatian Homeland Defence War soldiers, and especially the issue of accumulated social rights.(hina) lml sb
