ZAGREB, Aug 13 (Hina) - Croatia will soon become bound to respect the Arhus convention on public access to information, participation and justice in environmental affairs, a coaltion "Croatian Antiglobalists" announced on Monday.
Until recently 17 countries ratified this convention, adopted in 1998 in the Danish seaport of Arhus, and this number is sufficent for the document to become effective as of 30 October. A spokesman for the Croatian antiglobalists, Zoran Oastric, said on Monday that as of 30 October the convention would become obligatory for 35 countries, including Croatia, which have so far signed the document.(hina) ms
