MOSTAR, Aug 1 (Hina) - A spokesperson for the Mostar regional office of the international community's high representative in Bosnia hopes the Sarajevo cantonal court will investigate the president of the Croat National Council, Ante
Jelavic, professionally and independently, without influence from the side. The Sarajevo court received a request for an investigation into Jelavic, also the president of Bosnia's Croatian Democratic Union party, and six of his associates from the cantonal prosecutor's office on Tuesday. Avis Benes today declined to comment on the legal dimension of the request until the investigation was over. She added, however, the Office of the High Representative had said on several occasions that the Bosnian Croat Self-rule, for whose establishment Jelavic and his associates are charged with, was anti-constitutional and illegal.(hina) ha
