Ex-Bosnian Croat soldier gets 15 yrs for war crimes in central Bosnia

SARAJEVO, May 31 (Hina) - The State Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday sentenced former Bosnian Croat soldier Miroslav Anic to 15 years in prison for war crimes against Bosnian Muslims, including atrocities committed in the village of Stupni Do in 1993.

The imprisonment of 15 years ensued after Anic, a former member of the Bosnian Croat Defence Council (HVO), reached a plea agreement with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to war crimes committed by the HVO unit called "Maturice" in Kiseljak and Vares in 1993.

The attack on Stupni Do in October 1993 was commanded by Ivica Rajic, whom the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia has sentenced to 12 years in prison.
