USA: NO GROUNDS FOR ACCUSING PARDEW AND LEOTARD OF BIAS

WASHINGTON, July 24 (Hina) - Claims are unfounded about the partiality of international peace mediators who would like to help reach a political agreement in Macedonia, a spokesman for the State Department said on Tuesday. It is sufficient to say that James Pardew and Francois Leotard, with agreement of the Macedonian President and government, are trying to ensure a truce in Tetovo today, spokesman Philip Reeker added. Reeker reiterated that the political aim of the United States was to help overcome conflict and reach agreement which would make it possible for Macedonia to be a peaceful country on the path towards Europe. On Tuesday, a spokesman for the Macedonian government, said that "NATO is not our enemy, but it is a great friend of our enemies who are jeopardising the future of Macedonia," spokesman Antonio Milosevski said. According to Milosevski, US envoy Pardew and EU envoy Leotard showed their bias

According to Milosevski, US envoy Pardew and EU envoy Leotard showed their bias when they blamed Macedonian forces for the breach of cease-fire in Tetovo. Both parties must restrain themselves from armed operations as they get nowhere, Reeker said. (hina) sb ms
