ZAGREB, July 17 (Hina) - The presidency of the Croatian Academic Community (HAZ) entirely disagrees and is deeply concerned with the Croatian government's decision regarding requests for the arrest and hand-over of two Croatian
generals to the Hague war crimes tribunal and urges state authorities not to rush into new decisions. "Croatia's students and youth expect the government to protect indisputable historical facts about the defence of Croatia in the Homeland War in this difficult moment that requires sobriety, otherwise, the future generations will have to bear the burden of a distorted historical assessment that the Croatian state was founded on genocide," reads a statement the HAZ presidency adopted at a session on July 14 and issued today.
