ZAGREB, July 12 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament's Committees on Legislation and the Constitution, Rule Book and Political System endorsed on Thursday a proposal that parliament hold a debate on Croatia's relations with the
International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague. The committees agreed that representatives of party benches form a working group which will prepare a document to be voted on. It has not been decided yet whether the document will be in the form of a declaration or conclusions or in which form the public will be acquainted with the parliamentary decision. The parliament will discuss relations with The Hague tomorrow. The committees on legislation and the Constitution have taken separate votes refusing the Croatian Democratic Union's proposal for organising a state referendum which would urge the same legal treatment for Croatian soldiers as that granted to the soldiers
ZAGREB, July 12 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament's Committees on
Legislation and the Constitution, Rule Book and Political System
endorsed on Thursday a proposal that parliament hold a debate on
Croatia's relations with the International Criminal Tribunal for
former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague.
The committees agreed that representatives of party benches form a
working group which will prepare a document to be voted on. It has
not been decided yet whether the document will be in the form of a
declaration or conclusions or in which form the public will be
acquainted with the parliamentary decision.
The parliament will discuss relations with The Hague tomorrow.
The committees on legislation and the Constitution have taken
separate votes refusing the Croatian Democratic Union's proposal
for organising a state referendum which would urge the same legal
treatment for Croatian soldiers as that granted to the soldiers of
the victorious armies in World War II. The committees believe
neither constitutional nor legal conditions have been created for
such a vote.
