ZAGREB, July 11 (Hina) - The GONG (Organised Election Monitoring by Citizens) association on Wednesday called on the Croatian parliament's presidency, parliamentary committees and party benches to open their session on the Hague
indictments and a possible referendum to the public. "We would like to remind the elected deputies in the Croatian Sabor that under Article 83 of the Croatian Constitution, parliamentary sessions are public and we believe that the debate about the referendum as an expression of the democratic will of a people should not be closed for Croatian citizens," reads a statement issued by the GONG. The association also calls on the deputies to vote against the session being held behind closed doors. Croatian Parliament Deputy Speaker Mato Arlovic has announced that the parliament would hold a closed-door session on Croatia's relations with the Hague tribunal on Friday.(hina) rml
