ZAGREB, July 5 (Hina) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday sent a message to Croatian counterpart Stipe Mesic, replying to Mesic's recent letter sent to both the Russian and United States presidents ahead of the Bush-Putin
meeting in Ljubljana. The Croatian President's Office said the Russian President stressed the talks in Ljubljana had strengthened his standpoint in line with which the stability and security could be guaranteed only by preserving the existing borders and respecting territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries in the region. Putin said he respected Croatia's efforts invested in the normalisation of the situation in the region, adding he counted on the further joint activities aiming at the strengthening of cooperation and security in Southeastern Europe.(hina) it
