ZAGREB, July 5 (Hina) - President Stipe Mesic and Finance Minister Mato Crkvenac met on Wednesday evening to discuss the economic situation in Croatia, the President's Office said on Thursday. Positive trends in the economy are being
realised as expected and planned, while economic reforms have already had a good impact, according to Crkvenac. The two officials stressed the economic and social situation in Croatia was difficult, saying it was a fact that had to be accepted and fought. They agreed it was the result of circumstances encountered at the January 2000 change of authority, and that it called for a lot of knowledge, strength and persistence to be amended. Crkvenac said the incumbent government had the strength to do so.(hina) ha
