Goran Granic said the laws were adopted to express solidarity with 220,000 state employees whose wages had recently been decreased. Also adopted were amendments to a law on the state administration system, aiming at making a clear difference between the state administration and regional self-government. In line with the amendments, prefects will no longer enjoy the state employee status.
