During Wednesday's protest, ambassadors of Italy, Spain, Japan, Pakistan and Iran, accredited in Bosnia-Herzegovina, toured the downtown Mostar. The foreign diplomats came in Mostar to discuss with local authorities difficulties with which displaced persons were faced when they wanted to return to their pre-war homes. During the Croat-Muslim armed conflict in 1993, only 55 Croats remained to live in east Mostar, according to official reports. International representatives in Bosnia have many times accused the HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union of BiH) political party of impeding the return of Croats into east Mostar, and such a situation has caused tensions between local Croat authorities and the international community for years.
