Addressing the fourth session of the Croatian National Tourist Board assembly, the minister backed her claim with the latest data from the State Bureau of Statistics, which indicate 3.8 million overnights in this year's first five months, a 24-percent increase as against the same period of time last year. Early next year, in March at the latest, the minister announced the first satellite tourism balance of Croatia. Work on the project begins this August based on an agreement signed by the State Bureau of Statistics, the Tourism Institute, and the World Tourist Organisation's World Tourism Travel Commission.
