STOCKHOLM: UNICEF CONFERENCE "GENERATION IN DANGER" STARTS STOCKHOLM, June 18 (Hina) - An international conference of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), entitled "Generation in Danger", started in Stockholm on Monday with
the presentation of a global campaign, "Say Yes - For Children". The campaign was presented by Russian grand master Alatoliy Karpov and UNICEF spokeswoman Vendela Thomassen. Today's plenary session, which is dedicated to the most important issues of protection of children's rights, started with a speech by Kent Harstedt, president of the Swedish UNICEF Office. One of the most important topics to be discussed at the conference is how transition changes in Europe's former socialist countries are affecting the quality of life of the family and children. Today's plenary session, which is dedicated to the most important

One of the most important topics to be discussed at the conference
is how transition changes in Europe's former socialist countries

Croatia's delegation at the conference includes Assistant Labour

Valic and independent consultant Luksa Pezelj. Assistant Minister
Zganec will deliver a speech about the rights of children in
Croatia.
The UNICEF conference ends on June 20 when a declaration on
children's rights will be adopted.
