ZAGREB, June 15 (Hina) - The steering committee of the Croatian Association of Returnees (ZPH) said today the social programme for areas of special government care, as adopted by the Croatian government, has only been implemented
partially. At today's news conference ZPH president Josip Kompanovic called on members of parliament to dismiss the announced amendments to the Law on Areas of Special Government Care, which the association holds as completely unacceptable. He stressed that the economy was not good in these areas, and the government has not done almost anything to fix it. Unemployment rate is high, and the announced dismissals in the army and police will only make things worse, so a new displacement of people and exile are imminent, he said.
