MOSTAR, June 8 (Hina) - The presidency of the Croat National
Congress (led by the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-
Herzegovina) has warned that "it will call upon Croat disabled war
veterans and civilians, soldiers, pensioners and the entire Croat
people in Bosnia-Herzegovina to express civil disobedience and all
other forms of the resistance until the final settlement of the
political crisis in Bosnia," if authorities in Sarajevo and the
international community continue humiliating and depriving Croats
of their rights and transforming them into a national minority.
According to a statement which the HNS (Congress) forwarded to the
media on Friday after its presidency's meeting a day before, a blow
to the Bosnian Croat survival reflects " in the disempowerment of
the cantons with the Croat majority, blows to the economic life, the
disempowerment of Croat institutions, blows to the Croat component
in the (Croat-Muslim) federal army, politically motivated
prosecutions, manipulation with the budgetary means collected from
Croat tax payers, the blockade of the pension means from the funds
of Pension Insurance Institute (MIO) Mostar and in many other
moves."
It tells the incumbent Croat officials in the bodies of the federal
and state authorities within the ruling coalition 'Alliance for
Change' in Sarajevo that the HNS will not allow that the Croat
people in Bosnia be transformed into a national minority.
The HNS Presidency warns that one must stop the further de-
construction and destruction of the economic and banking system in
the Croat-populated areas and appealed for the discontinuation in
making "illegal" decisions pertaining to the change in management
boards of public and private companies. All the decisions in this
field are for the HNS petty-political and impossible to implement.
In late May the Federation's government appointed new managing
boards of the public companies as follows: HPT Mostar,
Elektroprivreda (Power Industry) of the Croat Community of Herzeg-
Bosnia and Aluminij Mostar, without respecting their ownership
structure.
The Croatian Telekom (HT) holds 39 percent of shares of the Croat
Post and Telecommunications (HPT) Mostar, whereas the Sibenik-
based Light Metals Factory holds a 12-percent stock in Mostar's
aluminium plant.
