ZAGREB, July 7 (Hina) - The Vlado Gotovac Institute was established in Zagreb on Thursday as a non-governmental and non-political institution aimed at studying and researching Gotovac's work. The Institute will work towards providing
conditions for raising civic and political culture and Croatia's all-round social life to the level of liberal democracies of Western Europe. Besides studying the work of Gotovac, born in Imotski in 1930, died in Rome in 2000, the Institute intends to encourage specialised training for young experts and students of literature, philosophy, law philosophy, history of journalism, politics, and other similar fields in the spirit of Gotovac's work. The Institute is headed by Gotovac's widow, Simona Sandric-Gotovac. Its opening was attended by prominent figures, including President Stipe Mesic.(hina) ha sb
