ZAGREB, June 6 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic received on Wednesday Sonia Wild Bicanic, a long-time professor at the English language department of the Zagreb Faculty of Philosophy and translator, the President's Office
said in a statement. Sonia Wild Bicanic has been awarded the Officer of the British Empire title by Britain's Queen Elisabeth II for her contribution to the promotion of cultural relations between the two countries. Born in Great Britain in 1920, Sonia Wild Bicanic completed her education in the United States and after the end of World War II came to Croatia with her husband, a well-known politician and writer, Rudolf Bicanic.
