Minorities and the Zagreb mayor due to "numerous racist incidents and attacks by Zagreb skinheads on national minorities, particularly the Romany." "If something is not done to prevent the growing wave of violence and if members of the Romany minority are not systematically protected, they will be forced to defend themselves on their own," reads the letter addressed to Interior Minister Sime Lucin, Mayor Milan Bandic, and the Office for National Minorities. The letter also warns about "the growing number of racist and nationalist statements in the media which insult all national minorities."
