PRISTINA, June 17 (Hina) - The southern Yugoslav province of Kosovo will be one electoral unit at the general elections on November 17, at which a proportional electoral system in one electoral district will be implemented, officials
of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation (OSCE) Mission to Kosovo told a press conference in Pristina Monday. Voters will vote for a party, and not for the candidate of a party, as oppose to the general elections held in October last year, due to "the long list of candidates", OSCE official in charge of general elections in Kosovo Peter Erben said. According to assessments of the OSCE Mission to Kosovo, close to 200,000 new voters will participate in the upcoming elections in Kosovo. Persons who lived in Kosovo until 1998 can register as voters and exercise their right to vote in Serbia, Montenegro or through mail anywhere in the world.(hina) it sb
