ZAGREB, June 3 (Hina) - Croatian Maritime Affairs, Transport and
Communications Minister Alojz Tusek told reporters today at the
government building which was opened for the public that all road
work relating to preparations for this year's tourist season, will
be completed by July 1, and Croatia will welcome the tourist season
as planned.
Preparations for accompanying structures for the tourist season
have reached momentum, roads are being fixed.
The highway around Karlovac is near completion, Tusek said, adding
the road will lift the traffic burden off the road through
Karlovac.
He recalled that Croatian Railways are introducing the summer
schedule as of today, with more trains. Croatia Airlines have
completed all preparations and airports are ready to accept the
expected 20 percent more passengers than last year.
Asked about the Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) leaving the
ruling coalition and entering into the opposition, Tusek said this
should never have happened. He said his opinion was that this would,
however, not significantly disturb relations in the government.
