ZAGREB, May 26 (Hina) - The development of agriculture and power
industry in compliance with ecological principles is the purpose of
a project called "Biodiesel" a fuel which will be derived from rape

Bozidar Pankretic said at the recent presentation of this
project.#L#
The production of biodiesel will be a significant feature of
environmentally friendly farming. Therefore, it is important to
regulate this area by law as soon as possible and draw up a
particular tax and tariff policy, like many European countries.
This means that biodiesel should be exempt from excise duties and
farmers at home be encouraged to grow plants necessary for this
fuel.
The project's head, Tajana Kricka, has explained that biodiesel is
fuel produced from rape seed oil or other vegetable oils through
esterification with methanol.
The Croatian government supported the production of this fuel last
year within its National Power Programme (BIOEN).
