SLAVONSKI BROD, May 24 (Hina) - The remains of 48 German WW2 soldiers were found last February on the construction site of a new school gym in Sibinje, eastern Croatia. They were found in a mass grave and will be buried at the Lovrinec cemetery in the southern Adriatic city of Split in a grave containing the remains of more than 1,000 German soldiers killed during or immediately after WW2, a member of a county commission for the research of the Sibinje mass grave, Mate Tustanic. The obligation to bury them at Lovrinec and the burial costs will be undertaken by a German non-governmental organisation for war graves in Southeast Europe. The task will be supervised by the Alliance of Germans and Austrians of Croatia and the German Embassy in Zagreb.(hina) ha sb
