VIENNA, May 21 (Hina) - Austria and Vienna enjoy exceptional relations and Vienna supports Zagreb in its strategic goals, namely access to the European Union, the presidents of the two countries' parliaments said in Vienna on Monday.
"Austria is the first country as to investments in Croatia and the first as to bank and financial investments," said Croatia's Zlatko Tomcic. Cooperation in tourism as well as in other branches of the economy is also exceptional, as confirmed by $800 million-worth of trade, Tomcic added. Austria's Heinz Fischer said his country had met the prerequisites for paying damages to forced labour during the Second World War. Between 500 and 600 people from Croatia should receive the damages over the next few months, he explained.(hina) ha sb
