ICTY CHIEF PROSECUTOR HAD INDICTMENT PREPARED AGAINST TUDJMAN

WASHINGTON, April 28 (Hina) - The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) chief prosecutor, Carla del Ponte, on Friday said she had prepared an indictment against late Croatian President Franjo Tudjman. In an interview for CNN, del Ponte first said Tudjman should be left to rest in peace but after a reporter reiterated the question, she said she had the indictment prepared. He would have been accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity, del Ponte said. She said she was convinced former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic would be extradited to the ICTY where he would be tried for war crimes and genocide. Del Ponte added another two indictments would be issued against Milosevic, for crimes committed in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
