ANTI-FASCISTS ALLIANCE MARKS ANNIVERSARY

LEPOGLAVA, April 22 (Hina) - "History revisionists whose task is to rehabilitate the Ustashi ideology and denigrate anti-fascism are growing like mushrooms," the president of the Alliance of Anti- Fascist Fighters of Croatia, Ivan Fumic, said on Sunday. Fumic was addressing a round table in the northern town of Lepoglava organised in memory of the victims of a WW2 Ustashi concentration camp in Lepoglava and to mark the 60th anniversary of the Croatian people's uprising. He criticised the former, pre-2000 authorities for their "nationalist policy, which contains many elements of Nazism," accusing the HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union) party of having "during its ten-year rule degraded Croatia in the moral, economic and political sense." Fumic said the round table was intended to put forward facts which should shed light on the role the Croatian population played in fighting against the occupying forces and the Ustashi regime during WW2, and to disclose the truth about the national liberation war and the Ustashi terror.
