The workers gathered following an April 6 incident when unidentified persons assaulted two Agro-Tovarnik workers who were doing farm work near the Croatian-Yugoslav border, seized the workers' tractor and took it into Yugoslavia. state bodies to the Croatian-Yugoslav borderline demarcation issue
and occasional incidents in the local border area.
The workers gathered following an April 6 incident when
unidentified persons assaulted two Agro-Tovarnik workers who were
doing farm work near the Croatian-Yugoslav border, seized the
workers' tractor and took it into Yugoslavia.
Local police head Josip Grcanac told the gathered workers the
police would increase patrols along the border to prevent further
incidents. Security in the area, despite occasional incidents, is

Municipal head Marinko Beljo briefed the workers about talks he
recently held with representatives of the nearby Yugoslav
municipality of Sid who condemned the April 6 incident. There is
information to the effect that the culprits have been put under
arrest and that the stolen tractor should be returned to Tovarnik
shortly, said Beljo.
He called on Croatian and Yugoslav authorities to launch activities
bound to result in a precisely demarcated borderline.
