The agreement on border issues brought closer the two countries and
regulated many things, Picula said, adding he and Lugumdzija
discussed already signed documents to be implemented, such as a

were illegally crossing the border. Picula also announced the
signing of an agreement on regulating property-rights relations.
It is necessary to complete the ratification processes of some
documents, such as the one on the use of the southern Croatian port
of Ploce and free transit through Neum, Picula said, adding the
strengthening of tourism is in both countries' interest. Picula and
Lugumdzija also discussed the preparations for the upcoming
tourist season, and concluded it was necessary to deepen relations
based on agreements on possible prevention of natural disasters,
such as wildfires.
The two ministers agreed that changes took place in the two
countries' relations which facilitates the solving of open issues
between Zagreb and Sarajevo.
One of the important issues in relations between Croatia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina is definitely the issues of the return of
refugees and displaced persons.
"Croatia's strategic goals are joining the European Union and NATO,
but we are aware that the main indicator of our credibility on that
path is the regulation of relations with our neighbours", Picula
said adding that in this context there was no more important country
for Croatia than Bosnia. He added the two countries agreed on
several joint projects which would be presented to the
international community.
"The European orientation connects our two countries in many
things", Lugumdzija said, adding the European Union was observing
candidate countries individually but also through mutual
relations.
